Sunbeam Rapier Owners Club
The Club that caters for all Sunbeam Rapiers 1955 - 1976
There are 'Parts Funds' set up for both the Series and Fastback models.
GBP 3.00 out of the Full Members annual subscription is put into the parts fund to enable the Spares Secretaries to purchase parts, or arrange to have certain 'hard to get' items remanufactured.
Price lists for spares are available only to SROC members and these are issued on an annual basis and sent out with the magazine.
We are not adverse to selling parts to non SROC members though the cost of these will be higher than members can obtain them for.
It is the Sunbeam Rapier Owners Club policy to only purchase and supply new or new 'old stock' parts to avoid possible problems which may arise from supply used parts.
We do, however, have a number of contacts for people with used and second-hand parts for sale and we will happily put members and non members in touch with such people in the event that we cannot supply a part.
When contacting the Spares Secretaries please quote your membership number and please remember that they are ordinary working people will not be readily available at all times.
We do not hold any responsibility for any consequences arising from any subsequent transactions that may occur between the parties.
At the AGM I stood down from the Fastback Spares Sec. role after 12 years in the post. I'd announced at the 2010 AGM that I would be doing so, but as yet we have not got anyone definitely taking over from me, so I need to set out the current situation regarding the Fastback Spares Service.
Although no longer officially Fastback Spares Sec. I will complete any pending orders and as the spares are still stored at my house, I will provide a limited spares service on a best efforts basis until 1 August 2012.
If no one comes forward by this date then the spares will be put into storage and in the short-term there will be no club spares service for Fastback's as such, but the spares will be held securely until such time as someone comes forward. If this does not happen by the next AGM then the situation will be reviewed. We will certainly be considering alternatives within committee over the coming months as it not an ideal situation and we apologise in advance to members and non-members for any inconvenience that may arise due to the position we find ourselves in.
Like all jobs within the club it is entirely voluntary and after 12 years I feel I have had a good run in the post and it is time to hand over to someone else; so if after reading this you feel you could take on the role, then please e-mail me. It is a commitment taking it on and the main issue tends to be storage, but don't let this stop you putting your name in the frame!
I will still be involved with the club and am available for help and advice regarding the Fastback as before. In closing I'd like to thank everyone for their support of the spares service over the past 12 years whilst I've been at the helm.
