Funny you should ask that Dave as i put a few things to one side last weekend that I will list on ebay at some stage and one of those is in the pile!
Now I know you want one I will bring it to Shepton - you'd better remind me nearer the time!

Spent nearly all afternoon cleaning the carbs but managed to get them clean in the end;
Couldn't resist seeing what they look like on;

Hi Dave,
Progress has been slow of late. I've been very busy with work and also getting to grips with my new hobby of beekeeping!
I managed to get a few jobs done when we had the nice weather a few weeks ago but all this rain isn't helping.
Hoping to spend some time on it this weekend to move things along.

Well I thought it was about time I put an update on here (I call it update rather than progress report)!
Not achieved as much as I had hoped due to various reasons, started a new job 6 months ago which has demanded a lot of time as has my new hobby of beekeeping. Obviously the biggest hold up has been the weather with virtually constant rain preventing me from doing the jobs I want to.
Anyway, I have been doing the odd job and will hopefully (and finally) have the paintwork finished very soon. The wing tips have been a challenge but I have been careful to take my time so the end result is what I want.
I hope to be able to bring more progress over the coming weeks (fingers crossed)!

Yes keep at it Jason: look at it this way, you're making more progress than me, although I have almost uncovered the car now and the garage is part cleared |

Work has started again on the rebuild (when there are gaps in the constant rain at least) and hopefully I will get a full weekend on it which should see some good progress. I really want this car back on the road for the summer national rally - god willing!!

I have managed to get a few jobs done over the weekend, including painting a few more parts. The main job completed however was to cut and fit some replacement sound deadening/insulation to the bulkhead. As the old pieces were completely perished I didn't have the benefit of being able to use them as templates so it was a rather uncomfortable afternoon upside down in footwells marking each piece.
Now that is done I can refit the wiper mechanism & heater matrix.

Very neat Jason, your car is going to be awesome when finished, with all the jobs being such a high standard. I've just seen the pics of your webers too, quite inspiring!

Yes, very neat there Jason, but no one will ever see it . Still definitely need something there to cut down a little on the noise. No progress on mine or kack-hander I'm ashamed to say. G. |

Yes I know none of this will be visible but I had the stuff so thought I might as well do it! The matting is actually leftovers from an acoustic curtain that was installed at the engineering firm I used to work for. I stuck it all in place tonight using spray contact adhesive, that stuff clears your sinuses!
Hopefully get the wiper mechanism & heater back in tomorrow although I am tempted to take the heater apart to replace the padding that fits on the little flaps that direct the air as that is crumbling off in places, i'll see how easy it looks first!

I did have a look at the heater but taking it apart was a bit too fiddly to be worrying about at this stage. So instead I went about replacing the last bit of old sound proofing, the bit over the transmisson tunnel;
I had to make 2 halves to replace it as the material I have isn't big enough to do it in 1 piece but it is much better now!
