Does anyone have any information regarding the amount of teeth on the series Rapier starter bendix. Most are 9 but I believe a 10 was also made? Want to get one ordered up before dismantling the car.
Any info most welcome.

If it's in a fastback then i'd very strongly advise changing to a pre-engaged type, you can pick them up quite cheaply, they bolt straight in and they are much much more reliable in starting! (rootes them selves fitted them to fastback post '74 i think - someone will correct me here)

if yours is a series car then that type fitted to the later hunters and fastbacks wont fit as it fouls on the steering arm, but aftermarket ones fit apparently, the alpine club recommends a "hi-torque pre-engaged reduction gear" type that bolts straight in
Powerlite RC401 i think was mentioned.

Anyway, my old bend-dikkie type has only 9 teeth for ref, same on my series alpine (soon to be binned!)
