Hi all! I'm thinking of fitting inertia reel seatbelts to my car. Has anyone carried out this mod and was it succesful? Also where would be a good supplier and how much would they be. Any advice would be greatfully received. Best Wishes, Steve. |

Hi Rapierbill, I've fitted Securon inertia seat belts both front and rear to my '67 series 5. I got them via e-bay from kcponline. I tried both webbing and cable for the fixed end and found cable to be best. I mounted the inertia unit on the parcel shelf, raised slightly. Each fixed catch mount worked best when fitted to the same, not opposite, side of the prop shaft tunnel. Getting the correct belt length is critical when you order them. I'll see if I can find the correct item numbers. If you like I can take some pictures too. I was very lucky with the front belts because, although the belts were rubbish and I changed them, the cables to the catches were very long and I could use the original mountings and still get the catches at the side of the seat. Best £150 I've spent, I know it's not original but I use my Rapier as a regular vehicle and it give me, and my passengers, peace of mind. |

OK, I've looked at what I ordered. I got a Securon 254 (208cm belt) with a 30cm cable mounted catch for the rear and a Securon 514/30 (270cm belt) for the front seats, but I already had the catches in situ. I guess webbing mounted catches would be OK here if you cant get the really long cable ones. If you want any more details let me know. |

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for the info. I've tried to email you to no avail. If you could send me some pictures would be great. Many Thanks! |
