Thanks for the nice comments.

Yes, they do look good two tone. I have settled on that colour scheme.

Good luck with your restoration. One of our club members calls his Fastback, a Hunter Fastback. (Hillman Hunter). Sacrilege

Is funny how two tone colour schemes always look good on old cars but look awful on modern cars. Nice car you have there Sunalp. Is too bad that more Series owners don't frequent the forum and show us what they've got.

One of these, (or a later model would probably be best), in convertible form with a chopped down roof off of a scrapper and a nice set of wheels would make a great custom I'm thinking and be a fairly easy project bearing in mind that the structural integrity of the car itself would remain unaltered. You could even make it so as the roof could be detachable.

I need to get on with finishing my project car!

Thank you very much that is just what I wanted.

Yes it does have floor shift with overdrive. Currently the original engine is seized, so I think I'll fit a 1600 motor. The car actually comes with a Vogue Sport for parts.

In the interim, I've used photoshop and think I will do this. (But now that you've mentioned it, the black looks good too)

Hello & welcome to the forum. The Series I looks in good shape: twin carb and floor mounted gear-shift I guess.
As to the two-tone colours, ones I can trace were - main colour 1st:-
Summer Blue & Pearl Grey
Pearl Grey & Pippin Red
Ash Grey & Embassy Black
Primrose Yellow & Embassy Black
April Yellow & Embassy Black
Beige & Pearl Grey
Corinth Blue & Pearl Grey
Dawn Mist & Corinth Blue
There were a few other combinations, but I think those were the main ones - a few were all one colour from the factory I think.
Cheers. G.

Hi, I have just purchased a 1957 Series I Rapier, and I'm curious to know what colour schemes were available from the factory.

Currently my car is metallic grey all over, but I'd like to highlight the roof and side panels.

I've done a google search, and searched this information forum to no avail.
