Are the seals for the rear window common to all series?

EDIT: after a bit of a search through my parts book, it appears that they have the same part number.

1957 Series I Rapier

Bit confused there Sunalp2.

Rear screen seal same on Alpine & Rapier
I take it you mean front; which could be the case, but would not have thought so.
All Series Rapiers' rears same as far as I know, but remember Minx of same period had different window, even though at first glance the look the same.
Why did Rootes make such minor changes to models . If they'd used same it would have made re-manufacture of things like seals that much easier. Even Fastback & Hunter front screen seals are different! Crazy. . G.

Just the Rapier.

I went through my Rapier parts book and saw that all the Series use the same part number.

Nothing to do with the Alpine, that's just my forum signature.

Any idea as to why this is the case Glen? As far as I'm aware the glass is interchangeable. I remember reading that Roy Axe wasn't happy as he wanted to use a smaller (less deep) windscreen, but was told that existing Hunter parts had to be used where possible.

Building the 'Mark II' fastback Rapier ('Arrocuda').

Yes, of course you are right that wherever possible using Hunter parts was Rootes preference, but they let the designers have their head with things like wings, which did make car look better.
As for screen, I thought they were same until I tried to put my screen in with a Hunter seal and it did not fit. I then measured Hunter and Rapier screens side by side and sure enough they are slightly different. We had a dozen screens in storage; only to find all but 2 are Hunter! If I remember I'll take photo of them laid against each other and you will see the slight differences. Rapier is slightly larger. G.
