Hi, anyone know if the clutch slave cylinder on the series 2 is the same as the Hillman Minx 1961-63ish? Looks right in the photo's and is same bore size at 1". Plenty of Minx ones about at the right price, but no Rapier.
Cheers.

Thought I would answer my own question is case others might find it useful. Yes the cylinder will fit the Rapier models. Also there is a motorsport cylinder (which I used) exactly the same dimensions as the standard item. £22 from most motorsport parts dealers.

Although Minx cylinders will fit at Rapiers the Rootes parts numbers are all different! So there must be some difference.

Hi thanks for your comment. Probably is a difference in the genuine parts. Ours came from one of our motorsport parts suppliers and is same bore size, length and pipe thread size as the dead original. Bolt holes are also a perfect fit. Apparently this type of cylinder was used on many cars of the time.
Have fun.
