I am currently renovating a convertible and am stuck with a unknown missing "clip"
The hood ALMOST reaches the windscreen surround and the two knobs on either end touch the surround and fit into a hole, but not tightly.
Either side of the hole are two smaller ones which presumably attach a "clip" which I imagine secures the front of the hood to the surround.
the photo shows the holes which I imagine must hold the missing " clip"
can anyone help with information, OR better, can anyone suggest a where I could get the missing part from please.
any help really appreciated.

I wonder if it could be a " Hood lock Escutcheon" H119828 that I am after, not seen a picture yet but it sounds likely !
hoping the spares dept might have two for me , fingers crossed.

Hi Royston,

If your Rapier has a chassisnumber which is B3012353 or later than you are after parts number 2215812 (Bush-Peg peak rail) which has H289 on the drawing in the parts list (Plate H-Section XY).
This part correspondends with the holes which are shown in the photo you have posted and it correspondens also with your explination that goes with the photo.

Regards,

Peter

thanks SO much Peter, I wish I could get hold of my own Parts Number book, but have had no luck to date.
I was really hoping someone would help me find the missing part number.
Now all I have to do is try and find the actual missing part !!!
thanks again

Wheeey, just bought a parts manual from Ebay, it proves that it is worth getting up early on a Sunday morning after all !
If anyone can help me with finding a " bush-peg Peak Rail " 2215812, I would be delighted !

Hi Royston,

you are not going to find a new part, but try Michael Langley the SROOC spares officer for series cars. Mike has helped me out several times regarding parts that are unobtainable through the regular suppliers.
By the way did you in the meantime fix the gearbox of your Rapier? I remember (some 4 months ago) that you had some problems with the overdrive.

Regards,

Peter

Thanks yes I have already contacted Mike Langley as I have quite a list of parts I need, and am hoping he may be able to help. The gearbox problem was on my other hardtop Rapier and Yes I have acquired another box with overdrive to fit at the end of the season
thanks again
