A few snaps taken at the show, this is a great event (especially in good weather) being free entry and plenty of machinery to see. I could have taken hundreds but was too busy looking round!

An idea of the size of the site;

Didn't expect the carb' fitted Vauxhall 16 valve engine in the Escort. Unusual choice for Ford fans I'm thinking.

Very true but it was a tidy install and I bet it shifts!

Certainly is a tidy install but I notice that he has removed the heater assembly. Hiding all the auxillaries hanging off of the inner wings and the bulkhead really adds the finishing touches to an engine bay but is probably totally impractical for anything other than a show car.

Given the recent trend for retro cars in the states (Camaro/Charger etc) I'm surprised nobody at Ford hasn't thought about putting out a "modern" Mk1 escort. Just imagine one manufactured from modern materials, decent brakes etc and a 200+ bhp cosworth motor, the queue for the showroom would be round the block
