Hi, yes, welcome to the forum. although Fastback Thos. link is to a Fastback guide, some of those things relate to the Series cars as well.
Agree with JPSH that Ser V probably best for towing, also later IV. Any would tow a small 3mtr touring caravan OK, but an all synchro box might be an advantage, which were fitted to late IV's on. Some earlier cars have been fitted with these now though. Should be more III/IIIA's about.
Best of luck with search. G.

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum.

Series owners are fairly scarce on here but you should be able to get some useful info. I do know that the series 5 has the larger 1725cc engine so maybe better for towing purposes.

Series 1&2 are pretty rare whereas 3 onwards I think are easier to come across.

Parts availability will be a consideration and you could have a word with the club spares secretary for info.

Best of luck and we like photos of course when you find one!

Hello,
I'm just starting the process of looking at Rapiers (up to series V not a fastback) as a replacement for my moggie pickup (which I haven't sold yet but is ready to go).

I have lots of questions and will look through previous threads now that I am registered. It will take a while to get up to speed with which models are rare and what I should look out for before buying.

If anyone can point me towards a 'buyers guide' then that would be useful. Also an idea of what an good car in each series should cost. I am planning to get along to the NEC for the Classic show in November.
Also, a longer term plan is to use it to tow a small classic caravan - I presume all would be ok for this, or does this cound a series 1 or 2 out ?

thanks for listening

Simon
