Hi,

Anyone go to Gaydon last weekend?

I was sorely tempted but in the end my wife persuaded me it was in my best interests to attend my Nice's wedding instead.

I just wondered what it was like.

While I'm here, did anyone attend the Sunbeam day at Brooklands. Now that I did plan to go, but missed out on the tickets

Yes, I made it down to Gaydon and was very pleased I did. As it was the first event arranged there by the Rootes Archive Trust, I wondered how well supported it might be, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

The turn out was very good, covering a number of adjoining car parks - I don’t know the numbers, but there was a very wide range of Rootes products there, with Rapiers well represented.

A few parts suppliers were there too, hopefully more might be attracted in future if the event runs again.

I was particularly pleased to have the opportunity to meet some fellow club members there and hope very much that the Trust will judge it successful enough to run it again next year - if they can also order similar good weather, that would be a bonus!

John
