Hi Guys and Girls , My name is Roger Wood and I have always been a Rootes fan from a young age . My first Rootes car in Rhodesia was a 1950 Hillman Minx followed by a series one Rapier then a series 3 Rapier, moving on to a Fastback.
On moving to South Africa in 1982 I purchased a rusty series 3 Alpine and rebuilt it , sold the Alpine and purchased a Tiger in boxes which I rebuilt and raced very successfully in Cape Town over a period of about 14 years. Stopped racing when the value of the car started rising rapidly and regrettably sold it in 2016 . I have now come by a 1959 Rapier convertible in a very poor state and have started a rebuild which I suspect will take a year or so . I think this will my last major rebuild as age is creeping on . Looking forward to the forum chat .

Welcome to the forum, Roger and good luck with the restoration.

Sounds like you have had many years of fun in Rootes machines!
