Hiya all!
New here and to most things Rootes.
Just acquired a Rapier S2 1958 that’s been a family member since new.
The car was left in my custody recently as the original owner’s grandchildren complained about too many thumbs and too little time.
The car is more or less completely original except converted to negative earth and a Halda as the car has had an extensive competition career. My goal is to use the car as intended by my mother’s cousin (the original owner) and use it for rallies and challenges. But on a lower scale, as fitment of a rollcage et al is out of the question for this old girl.
My own experience of tinkering with the odd British car is about 35 years continuous ownership of BMC and Rover/Land Rovers and this Coventry product fits quite perfectly in the garage.
At the moment my only concern is a slightly high idle that may be rectified by a carb. Job, and how to fit rear seatbelts.
More pics will be posted as soon as they appear.
